To regulate and maintain just, fair, equitable opportunities and a healthy Competition in the market, our country enacted “The Competition Law, 2002”, which operates under which a Judicial Body constituted under by name “Competition Commission of India (CCI)”.

The Competition Act, 2002 had been enacted keeping in view the economic development in our country. The said Act constitute the establishment of the Competition Commission to regulate practices leading to adverse impact on competition factors in the Indian market, to protect the interest of consumer, to ensure freedom of trade or ancillary issues related to thereof, prevalent in the Indian markets.

The objective of this act is to protect the interest of the consumers and ensure freedom of trade in the Indian markets. Few elements or the objectives of The Competition Act, 2002 are mentioned hereunder:-
